It was great to get out eventing again and even better to be in the sun! All the older horses were having steady runs to prepare for their bigger goals.
Ceylor LAN was fab and very pleased to be out eventing again! He did a super test in the Advanced Intermediate to score 28.2, he was a little keen in one medium canter and didn’t quite come back on my aids but other than that he felt great. Watch our test here:
He then jumped a beautiful clear in the show jumping, with just one little excited moment where I thought he might quite like to tank off with me! Watch our round here:
He gave me a lovely ride round the cross country but we just went steadily and picked up a few time faults to finish 2nd.
Vendredi Biats was in the Open Intermediate and did a lovely and not too excited test, with just one tiny jog step to score 28.9. Watch our test here:
He was very unlucky to have one down show jumping, when he became a little keen down a short related didstance. Watch our round here:
He to had a steady first cross country outing, but gave me a lovely ride to finish 8th.
Virage Des Falaises did a great test in the Intermediate to score 29.1 and was very unlucky to have one down in the show jumping. He was super cross country until he miss understood a corner question coming out the water but once the penny dropped he jumped it well and finished the course flying.
A second super day in the sun at Tweseldown, this time with the babies in the BE100. Drewmain Stud’s Drewmain Firefly kicked his season off with a win, he performed a super test posting a 25.5 and even scored a 9 for his last halt. Watch our test here:
He then jumped lovely double clear feeling very confident and happy to be out again. Watch our show jumping here:
Sue Brendish and Lindsay Caldwell’s Snow Wind SN did a super test to score 23.3 with just one annoying break in the canter when I forgot to keep my leg on! Watch our test here:
She to jumped a great double clear and finished 2nd. Watch our show jumping here:
Anna Layton and Caroline Jerram’s The Last Euro also did a fantastic test to score 23.5, but a little bit of early season enthusiasm in the show jumping resulted in a few down but a great clear cross country made up for it and a 9th place.
Super grooming skills on her debut solo outing by Chloe Fry all the horses looked great and we finished on time with some pretty tight times to get through.
Unfortunately the sun didn’t hold out for the last day of Tweseldown which was a huge shame for the organisers after all the effort they had put in to the courses.
New ride Cristal ‘Fontaine owned by Alex Wakeley was having his first ever run and was in the BE90 HC. He put in a great first performance in fairly muddy conditions, he did a lovely rhythmical and soft test and scored a 25.3 6 marks ahead of the next horse. Watch our test here:
He was very unlucky to have one down in a very soggy show jumping arena and was fantastic round the cross country.
