Yeoman Haylage

Yeoman Haylage is a specialist producer of quality horse haylage. John Bosley was born into a farming family in Oxfordshire where his father became ‘Leading Amateur Jockey’ in the 1950’s.

John’s haylage business started in 1999. Based at Thongsleigh Farm in Devon it has been expanding ever since.

John Bosley, owner of Yeoman Haylage, remembers only too well how Kitty, aged 10, riding a 13.2hh pony, had to give him a lead over a fence whilst out hunting with the Old Berkshire.

John regularly delivers his haylage to Kitty who feeds it to her top event horses and comments that it is a consistent, reliable, quality product and gives them a good nutritional balance.

A successful horseman in his own right, John won his first Point to Point at the tender age of sixteen. John’s father received the accolade of becoming ‘Leading Amateur Jockey’ in the 1950’s so being in the saddle came naturally to John.

After a twenty year career as a college lecturer in equine land management and agriculture, John went on to become a specialist producer of quality horse haylage from his farm in Devon.

Grown from specially sown ryegrass leys, Yeoman Haylage is high in fibre, dust free and the freshness and nutrition is sealed in within hours of being harvested. There are no additives or preservatives and the bales are of a target weight of 30kg in easy to feed sections.

John aims to continue to provide a good old-fashioned service which encompasses modern technology, to bring the best service possible to his customers. He’s proud of his haylage, takes great pride in what he does and guarantees every bale he sells.

There’s no doubt that John’s an authority when it comes to quality haylage production.
