At Goring I had Drewmain Firefly and The Last Euro in the BE100 and Snow Wind SN in the Novice.

Drewmain Firefly has been the model of consistency this year and was super again. He did a very polished test to score 29.3 and jumped an immaculate double clear to finish 3rd.

The Last Euro did a lovely test with just one small mistake to score 30, he then had an annoying two fences down. He jumped in a much better rhythm but found the distances a little on the short side. He went very well cross country bar one error when he was taken by surprise by the water and managed to jump part A really well before seeing the step into the water whipping round with me! It was a huge shame, but he is still learning and was very good round the remainder of the course.

Snow Wind did a brilliant test, particularly as I had learnt the wrong one! She scored a very competitive 30.5. She then jumped a great round in the show jumping keeping a much better rhythm, but unfortunately had two down when she jumped too well and ran out of space in the combinations.  We also picked up five time faults which seemed ridiculous as I had ridden pretty tight lines and never even trotted to change legs! So I have no idea how we were quite so slow. She then went very well round a tough cross country course which had a particularly grown up water that wouldn’t look out of place in an intermediate. We just went slowly as the ground was very firm.
