Zidante was my only runner at Gatcombe and this was in the Novice Championships. She did her usual lovely test and scored 26 to lie in 3rd place behind Ruth Edges two horses on 25. She then had one fence down which was a shame, but it didn’t affect her place and stayed in third going into the cross country.
This however didn’t quite go to plan!! She was a little full of herself and was jumping very big and miss read a combination fence, believing she was Pegasus and could fly!! Which she can’t, this worried her a bit and we ended up with 20 penalties so I decided to call it a day and save her for another event as the ground was hard it wasn’t worth risking her.
